Make your iPad a MacbookAir with one click.

This another company on Kickstarter called The Brydge, who is offering a well designed solution to a problem. Sometimes you want your iPad to have a keyboard, and you want an elegant click on device that feels like a Macbook Air.

This solid looking answer looks amazing and well done for a really well produced video which clearly articulates the problem, the solution and how it can improve your experience. They are looking for $90,000 for funding the project, they reached that an hour ago when I came across this project, and an hour later as I come to write this it’s hit $101,000. How much you do think they will raise when they hit the fund raising  deadline of the 4th of June?

So we know a couple of kids in China sold a kidney to buy an iPad, are they going to sell the other for a Brydge? Or maybe as you’re buying a peripheral how about just selling an appendix?

The keyboard dock for the Asus Transformer was probably one of the best aspects about their tablet. If only it had a built in sd/micro sd card reader then this would have been perfect. I really like the aesthetics of it all but it looks a hair bigger then the macbook air itself. With the ability to detach from the keyboard and touch screen, it’s a nice alternative to the MBA. Depending on HD size, both the 64GB versions MBA and the iPad with Keyboard dock will probably end up priced the same. (Assuming the keyboard dock will probably be priced at $150-200) iPad has the option of 4G though. So I guess it’s up to your preference?

iPad 3…or the New iPad

Meh, I probably would have been more impressed if I did a side by side comparison by the iPad 2 but to be honest the screen of the iPad 2 is pretty dope as it is and all the extra pixelation really isn’t necessary. I won’t lie the screen resolution for the iPad 3 is more crisp and you would probably benefit it the most of you use it as a viewer for photographs, not taken by the iPad 3. While the iPad 3’s back camera has been improved it’s not enough. It’s decent enough for well lit areas but if there isn’t enough light things get super grainy. Maybe I just have poor lighting, who knows?

A lot of people have unfortunately been complaining with bleed through but I haven’t had the chance to look at that. I admit I’ve been busy re-uploading certain apps and playing with them.

While the iPad is heavier then the iPad 2 the extra heft gives the iPad a more solid feel. Which is good because I hate the feeling that I have to be extra careful with my equipment. I want some durability, you know? It survived my nephew tapping away like a mad man as he painted a colorful…butterfly(?) on Sketchbook Express.

After about an hour of use, the iPad became a bit warm. Not uncomfortable but noticeable. Weirdly enough I experienced a bit of lag in certain applications (Sketchbook Express for example). I’m not sure if it’s because the application hasn’t been redone to suit the new screen resolution or because the new processor can’t keep up to speed or a bit of both but it’s kind of disappointing.

I mean unless you specifically want 4G for traveling I’d just go for the iPad 2. I’m 99% sure I’m going to sell this off and peck my way through for a cheap 16GB/32GB iPad 2.

I got the 64GB 4G ATT Black and I really don’t know why. Honestly, I’d be more excited if they finally came out with a 7inch tablet.

Starting to freak out

okay so I have a MacBook pro and I can’t turn it on. The drives and fans start running but the display stays black. I’m really concerned.

Press F2 (or whatever hot key you have for the screen brightness adjustment)

If nothing happens take a minidisplay or miniDVi (depending on MBP model) to VGA/DVI/HDMI adapter and plug it into a monitor/HDTV to see if anything appears. (If you don’t have it on hand, you should consider buying it to use an external monitor/HDTV and have a bigger screen real estate when at home but if that’s not your think take it to Apple)

If everything appears fine then it seems that your screen’s cable connector might have malfunctioned. If that’s the case you should probably bring it to your local Apple Store and get a diagnosis on your laptop for confirmation.

You can either purchase the cable connector and replace it yourself or pay Apple to do it for you…unless you still have your warranty then that should be covered by Apple anyways.

MacBook Pro Wrap
With MacBooks being retired most of us have been forced to upgrade to MacBook Pro’s, which technology wise is better but although they do they do have a sleek design they’re just not quite as cute as the white MacBooks. Now you can make them even cuter though with these wraps from Kellokult’s shop on Etsy. The vinyl wrap simply sticks to the edge of your MacBook Pro to give it a unique look that will stand out from the crowd and it comes in a wide range of colors so if pink is not your thing don’t worry. The shop also has wraps for your iPhone and iPad so you can make them all match!
